At the location specified above, on the street next to a tree, I placed the tape recorder on a stand, and positioned the two microphones as far apart as possible on the sidewalk. The device recorded the street sounds and auditory events. I threaded the joined, infinite looped tape into the recorder so that it passed around the trunk of the tree, then covered the tape head with a piece of aluminum foil. With these two actions, the device was theoretically able to record and store an infinite amount of sound information. The amplifier and two speakers allowed the event to be traced.
